TITLE: Classroom Paraprofessional

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Has a minimum of 30 hours of college credit
2. Has state certification to serve as a paraprofessional
3. References must be provided

REPORTS TO: Teacher/Principal

JOB GOAL: To provide help to teachers by working with students, either individually or in small groups, to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares classroom activities under the supervision of a certified teacher.

2. Works with small groups of students to reinforce material introduced by a teacher.

3. Assists individual students.

4. Performs clerical duties as appropriate for required subjects.

5. Secures materials and supplies needed in the classroom.

6. Participates in in-service training.

7. Supervises cafeteria and playground when assigned.

 

EVALUATION: Principal

 

Starting Pay: $27.22 per hour
